A lot may give us depression, but Christ saves us from it.
We benefit from being a bit social, but in this corona-time people get more lonely and for many it is not so good. For some, it results in poor finances and economic depression can also contribute to mental depression. There is certainly a lot we can do to avoid getting depressed, such as exercising, going for walks and staying in physically good shape.
There are a lot of memories in the body, even if we are not aware of it. In the immune system, memory cells can be made that make us resistant to diseases. If we’ve been well-trained, the muscle cells remember that, so it will be easier to train again. They have found out a lot about the function of different areas of the brain also regarding memory. But it’s still a mystery what consciousness is.
What we are concerned about and not least the choice of friends and social circle matters, it has an impact on the state of mind. We know that hormones have an impact on the state of mind and so many drugs work, but my point is that the state of mind also affects the hormones. And your state of mind allows you to choose to some extent.
If someone believes in something, is trained in it, hopes for it and bets on it and then it fails, then it is likely that they become sorry and it can transition into prolonged depression. On a Good Friday, it may be in its place to remind us that when Jesus and his disciples were in Gethsemane, they were all sorry. Jesus knew he was going to be executed. But God woke him up from the dead and that changes the case. Jesus’ cross tells of a death, yet is a life-affirming and joyful message, because he rose back from the dead. It gives us hope for eternal life and God’s glory, and that hope does not disappoint us, for by faith in Him we receive the water of life for free, out of mere grace, without the requirement of works. The hope does not disappoint us, for God’s love is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given to us (Rom.5,5).
Depression? Why? Why not?
There are two main types of depression, “major depressive disorder” affects one in seven adults and twice as many women as men. “Bipolar disorder” or “manic-depressive disorder” affects 1% of the people, but many with such depression show great creativity, often as artists, musicians and poets.
But depression has a negative effect on the brain, especially the hippocampus, it can be 10% less due to depression. In the limbic system, emotions are created and experienced. It lies around the top of the brain stem, the thalamus lies at the top, the hippocampus and amygdala lie on the sides, little further down. The amygdala is at the front of hippocampus and is the part of the brain that is most responsible for emotional thinking. Short-term memory and long-term memory are stored in the cerebral cortex. Short-term memory is available through temporary channels that are created in the hippocampus, but when it becomes long-term memory, these are replaced by channels in the cerebral cortex.

The central nerve system, feelings and our heart.
Then it seems like the limbic system and the brainstem correspond to what is called hearts in literature, for it feels like we feel with the heart.
In the embryo stage (early fetal stage) there are abundant of nerve cells and synapses, so it seems like a competition between them to survive, those that are most in use survive. Later in life, the nervous system is remodulated in response to its own activity. It is called neuron plasticity. The nerve threads make contact through synapses. Is there much activity through the synapse, there comes more of them and they get more receptors for neurotransmitters; glutamate. Is there little activity, on the contrary, it is reduced and contact can become abrupt. This is regarded as the physiological basis of memory.
“Afferent neuron” send signals to the brain. “Efferent neuron” sends signals from the brain. Through the motor system we control skeletal muscles, this we are aware of, we control it with our will. And through the autonomous system, it works automatically. The autonomous system is threefold.
1. The enteric division the signal goes to the hormone glands.
2. The parasympathetic nervous system goes directly from the brain stem and out into the body, it gives orders of the character “rest and digest”.
3. The sympathetic division goes through the spinal cord and out into the body and the order has the character “fight or flight”.
In the two last systems, 2&3, preganglionic nerves lead out to synapse stations called ganglia, post-ganglionic nerves lead the message further out to the muscles, smooth musculature, since it is automatic. The neurotransmitter is acetylcholin, except for post-ganglionic nerves of the sympatetic division, where it is norepinephrine. That is what causes the effect on the muscles to be reversed.
Jerusalem’s fall.
God freed his people from the slavery under the idols in Egypt and gave them their own land, where he should be their God and they should be his people. Then it concerned their economy also. God would bless them, so that none of them became poor. Though if any of them got bad economy and found he had borrow money, they should lend him money without interest and after seven years they should cancel the debts. If somebody found he had to sell himself and his family as slaves, they should be freed the 7th year. They should lend to many nations without needing to lend (Deuteronomy 15).
David became their great king (1000-965 BC), ruling from the Mediterranean to Euphrates, so he ruled over neighboring peoples and their countries and they didn’t have the same rights. They worshipped their idols and the Israelis were told not to marry anyone of them, so that they should not be dragged into idolatry, but later kings did so and in this way they fell away from God. They started to loose power and 587 BC Jerusalem fell, the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar occupied all their land and abducted most of them as slaves.
This was foreseen by their prophets, now God used Daniel as his prophet and he four great kingdoms, where the Babylonia was the first. Then there would come a kingdom that should last forever. This is the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of Christ. John’s revelation is a continuation of Daniel’s book (Isak Newton wrote a book about this).
The woman clothed in the sun and the dragon.
Apostle John got a revelation of a woman in heaven, clothed with the sun (John’s Revelation.12.)
We get an explanation in
Malachi.4, 2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.
She was pregnant and gave birth, but a red dragon was waiting to devour her child. Then she gave birth to a male child that would rule all nations and it was snatched up to God. This child is Christ.
In Matt.2 it is told that an angle from the Lord warned Joseph in a dream, that Herod wanted to kill the child, so they moved to Egypt until he was dead.
In John’s Revelation.11 it is told about God’s two witnesses, like in Zechariah 3-4. They were killed in the same town as Christ was killed, but after three days they came alive, like Christ then, and were taken up to heaven. But in chapter 12 it is not said anything about that Christ was executed. When we read more in this chapter, we get to know that this woman is God’s people, that really believed in him, so that she was God’s wife and gave birth to his children (Ezekiel.16,1-14 Hosea.2,14-2). Apostle Paul said that the heavenly Jerusalem is our mother (Galatians.4,26-27).
John’s Revelation.12, 6 The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days.
7 Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.
8 But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.
9 The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.
11 They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short.”
Compare to Daniel 12 where it is also told about Michael.
God’s wife gave birth to God’s children, but the dragon fought against her and them.
Apostle John got a revelation of a sign in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun gave birth to a boychild who will rule all nations. A red dragon was prepared to devour it, but it was taken up to heaven. This is Christ. Her is not told that he was executed at about 30 years, so the point seems to be that he was God’s Son, by his glorious Spirit (Rom.1,4).
He blessed the children and said to his disciples that they should let them come to him, for the kingdom of heaven belong to such. So the adults had to repent and become like them to see it and come into it.
The priest in the Church like to refer to this, to make and appointment with the parents that their children shall be taught in Christianity. In this way they put themselves in the position of teaching what is most fundamental. What is that? That God created everything with his Word, in it is life and it is the light for humans. Jesus is God’s Word, by believing in him we get eternal life, by receiving him we get right to become children of God, born by the Holy Spirit. So the crucial point is to believe in Christ and call upon him as our savior and Lord and come to him with all our needs, he is the way to our heavenly Father, so that we can come to him with all our needs and talk to him about it. Then we will experience that he loves us and cares for us as his children. He raises us and teaches us as we grow.
Ephesians.4, 11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,
12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.
15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Concerning the Catholic Church in the middle age; what if a python engulfs your child?
Imagine a man and her wife with their newly borne son. Maybe he cries a little and they understand it as a cry for care and so they do. When it starts talking a little, they talk with it, trying to understand what it says and to teach it to talk. So this is a very good democracy and so is the childhood God gives us.
They will not say you talk nonsense, what’s the matter with you? You are only talking nonsense, so you’d better shut up. To be able to think symbolic, like in mathematics and in talking is the most typical human trait. So it’s good to learn it soon.
Imagine there came a python into their house and they started to keep it as a pet, not knowing it could be a danger to their son. But one day they didn’t find him and wondered where he might have gone. The python looked pregnant and they became exited, that was quick, it will be exiting to see if it will give birth to a male or female. Hopefully parents are not that stupid.
But in the Middle age the catholic church concluded that Jesus is so strict, that ordinary people can’t talk to him directly, pray to him and ask him for anything, so the pope must be intermediary between him and them. They could pray to him and the priests and the catholic saints, that they should prey for them. But the correct explanation for this is that the serpent seduced the woman and the church, so it was the knowledge of good and eval that they got by eating of the forbidden fruit, that was such a strict moral, as if they could rule like God with it. But it gave them bad consciousness, so that they hided from God. It killed their spiritual life in society with God, who is Spirit, it killed their souls. In this way childhood is replaced by slavery, the indulgence trade was a form of slave-trade. So the point in that the priests should talk and pray for them turned out to be like this, that they got what they wanted instead of them.
But the democracy in the childhood at God’s house in not like this. Christ is the intermediary between God and humans, he represents us for our heavenly Father, he prays for us. Priests may serve him, if they don’t, they may try to represent us in a different way, but then this democracy doesn’t function correctly. Then it may get political consequences, that the politicians no longer represent us correctly, it is false, they may pretend to do so, but don’t. So both the Church and the politics are corrupted. The socialization into Churches functions like soul-trap and so do socialization into schools, high-schools, universities and politics. Social life has become a soul-trapping project. Social life die. How does it end? And then they ask if we have a soul? Maybe they should better ask what kills it and what lets it live?
But Christ is the same and his gospel is the same. If anyone is soul-trapped, so that your soul is dying, like a bird in the fowler’s snare, it’s just to turn to him and call upon his name and he will give life to your soul and free you from the snare.
The priests in the Church should preach the gospel of Christ and thereby teach the people what is most fundamental.
The priest in the Church reminds us of that Jesus blessed the children and makes an appointment with parents that their child shall be taught in the Christian faith. In this way the priest puts himself in the position of preaching what is most fundamental and in this way he comes in a sovereign position to them. Then he baptizes the child to the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. If the child is sick and maybe dies from it, they hurry up to do it in time. Why because it shall become God’s child and not perish. Why? Because of inherited sin.
But this is not how Jesus argued when he blessed the children, he didn’t bless them because they were sinners, but because the kingdom of heaven belong to such. He told the adults to repent and become like them. He told them not to look down on one of his small ones, because their angels in heaven always see the face of his Father in heaven. An angle is a messenger, so I think that in this way their spirit and mind have contact with God. Even before they know how to talk. But as they learn how to talk with their parents, they may learn to talk with their heavenly Father also. The parents need to become like children, to be reborn, to learn to talk to God as his children to become able to teach it to their children.
What is most fundamental is that God is Spirit and created everything with his Word. Jesus is God’s Word, in him is life and that is the light for the humans. He is God’s Son. God loved the world so much that he sent his only Son, so that everyone that believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Everyone who received Christ he gave right to become children of God, borne from water (the living water) and Spirit, so that they could see the kingdom of heaven and come into it.
God loved the world so much that he sent his only Son, so that everyone who believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Everyone who received Christ he gave right to become children of God and as his children we can come to him with all our needs. Jesus is the truth and the life and the way to our heavenly Father. Sin separated humans from God, but with one sacrifice Jesus took the sin away once and for all. He paid the price for us, with his own blood, to buy us back to God. And he gave us the Holy Spirit as a seal that shows that we belong to him. This is what a priest in a church shall preach.
How the Catholic Church replaced Christ with something else.
Then it is very strange that the Catholic Church started to teach that Christ is so strict that ordinary humans can’t talk with him and ask him for anything. Instead they needed the pope and the priest to pray for them, and the saints, but that was like asking the dead and that is not allowed in the Bible (1.Sam.28,3). What were they allowed to say then? To come to the priest at special locations and confess their sins. Then they got the pillory and the indulgence trade. The Reformation was a reaction or revolution against this, to return to the Bible, especially by teaching that we become righteous for God by faith in Christ.
How the Church still derailed after the reformation.
By the reformation witch trials came also. For example in Sweden on the 16th century AC the priests had some sexual imagination about the people and this they told the children, to give them such fantasy about the adults. Then they demanded that they should confess it as sin, because everyone are sinners according to the Bible and must confess it for God, to get forgiveness, according to the gospel. Many did, even though it was just fantasy. But the priests concluded that the women had sex with the devil and both children and adults were beheaded.
Christians and their priests shall use the methods of the gospel of Christ. How about Freud’s psychoanalysis, his methods and conclusions then? He talked with mentally sick peoples that had come into trouble. He found wrong way of thinking connected to religion and sexuality, very much came from their subconscious and resulted in fantasy, maybe against their own free will. So it tells something about humans, they are sinners according to the Bible. But the danger is that the priest and his disciples will use it a similar way as in the witch trials. It really seems like many of them do, but now in cooperation with women, to draw the conclusion that men are devils that shall be convicted and executed. Then this shows how we need the gospel of Christ.
Anyone may imagine something and get ideas they don’t really mean, then they just consider it and choose to think in another way. Apostle Paul made a good choice and wanted to do good, but didn’t manage it (Rom.7,14…). But the Lord said that his grace was enough for him, for his pawer is fulfilled in weakness. Now God did his work with him, with his word and his Spirit. Jesus gives us Spirit and life from heaven and we just turn to him and receive it in faith. Jesus said that we should believe in him and love him and love each others, then he would reveal himself for us, he and our heavenly Father would come and live among us. Then this is quite right and it is just for us to continue search him like that, look at him that way, listen to him, talk with him and come to him with all our needs.
The pietistic slogan “to break the child’s will” is very strange compared to the childhood at our Father’s house.
This is Christianity and the priests in the Church were supposed to teach it. So it’s very strange that they stopped doing so. But by the reformation they started to teach righteousness by faith in Christ, by mere grace. The faith came from reading and teaching God’s word so it would be good if the people knew how to read, so the pietists started schools for everyone. Their slogan was that they needed to break the child’s will, but this is still very strange compared to Jesus who blessed them and to what he said about them. It may turn out badly, as if the parents should listen to the priest and the teacher and care for them instead of their children. And when the get older and a boy want to find a girlfriend and a wife and a girl want to find a boyfriend and a husband, it may turn out like the point is to break that will, because the teacher, the priest and the politician claim that they shall listen to them and care for them instead of listen to each other and care for each other. In this way they seem to develop a policy that breaks the peoples will, contrary to the principles in democracy. It may seem to be based on both Christianity, science and democracy, but breaks with all of it.
Jesus said that we should believe in him and love him and love each other, then he would reveal himself of us, he and our heavenly Father would come and live among us. This is especially important for a man when he wants to find and win a wife, as he shall do it in sanctification. God is love and it is important in the lovely relationship between them. Jesus is the life and gives meaning to life, also in their marriage and family life. In this way his revelation is important to us.
The mystery of the lawless.
We know that people have been cheated and cheat themselves in psychological introspection. It is not hard to understand that self-blaming may become self destructive and together with blaming others it becomes destructive to their social life. Freud’s psychoanalysis may also function that way, it depends on who uses it as self-understanding and understanding of other people. Is all introspection or do we have a rational reference that tells us what is right?
Freud said that humans are motivated by sexuality and aggression, this suits to the natural lust and is natural. He also said that religion is derailed sexuality. This suits to the idolatry (Ezekiel.22). Sin separated humans from God, but with one sacrifice Jesus took it away once and for all. On the foundation of the gospel of Christ, we may come into society with him again. On that foundation God poured out the Holy Spirit over all flesh (Joel.2,28), so that it shall rule over the natural lust (Rom.7-8). Then this is the fundamental solution to our social problems. We come into such a relationship to God as humans were in before the fall of sin, but now Christ is the last Adam, that is from heaven and for us has become a lifegiving spirit. This is eternal and most fundamental and it makes us glad. He is the head of the man and the man is the head of the woman and in this way Christ is the head of the Church that is his bride. By faith in Christ we get to experience that God does his work inside us with his Spirit and his Word, he creates us in Christ and builds us up inside and so he does in his Church. In this way God creates order in this world that is quite new, so it seems not to be at the expence of order that already is there, it is not according to the entropy law then. We get the Holy Spirit by faith in Christ, for free, of mere grace, without doing anything for it.
Nowadays many have revolted against this, so that they don’t love the truth, but the lie and rejoice in injustice, but doesn’t understand that they rejoice in their own self-destruction. Those who preach lie may be so clever at talking that they manage to tell people to go to hell, in such a nice way that they look forward to it and rejoice as if it were the gospel of Christ.
2.Tess.2, 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains it will do so until he is out of the way.
8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.
9 The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,
10 and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
11 Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false,
12 in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Get life and become renewed by Jesus’ cross.
Jesus is the life and it is the light for humans. Even though he gives us life, he said something that first seemed like enmity against common human life, but they had to loose what was old to get what was new.
Matt.16, 24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.
25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?
He is the good shepherd, that knows his sheep by name and they know him, so it is quite personal, we talk with him quite personally.
John.10. 1 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”
6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.
7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep.
8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them.
9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.
10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it.
13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me—
15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again.
18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”
Believe in God, search him and love him with all your heart and you will find him.
In the old testament it is told about people who did eval in the secret, in the darkness, so that the people could not know it an punish it. They also taught that there is no God or at least he doesn’t see it or know it and will not punish it (Psalm.10,4 & 53,2). Those who made idols and worshipped them also taught like that, but they also were called ungodly and unfair. Even some of God’s own people taught that way, but he taught them that it was he who did his work with them.
Isaiah.29, 13 The Lord says: “These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.
14 Therefore once more I will astound these people with wonder upon wonder; the wisdom of the wise will perish, the intelligence of the intelligent will vanish.”
15 Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the LORD, who do their work in darkness and think, “Who sees us? Who will know?”
16 You turn things upside down, as if the potter were thought to be like the clay! Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, “You did not make me”? Can the pot say to the potter, “You know nothing”?
Similarly God did his work with the peoples around them, even though they didn’t understand it. So they didn’t honor him as God who did his work with them and their kingdom, but started to think that they had done it, as if they were gods, but then he punished them. He heard what they said, when they honoured themselves as gods, he punished them, so that they lost their power and their kingdom collapsed (Ezekiel 28,1…Daniel 4,28….. ).
God created everything with his word, Jesus is God’s Word, in him is life and the life is the light for humans. If we acknowledge our sin for Christ, his blood cleans us from it, in this way we repent from doing eval in the dark and come into his light. By receiving Christ we get the right to become children of God, born by the Holy Spirit and what is born by the spirit is spirit. Then we can freely talk with God and come to him with all our needs in our praying and expect that he hears us and answers us as a father that loves us and cares for us.
By faith in Christ we get his Spirit. Then we belong to him and are saved. It makes us praise him: “ He touched me”.
Jesus blessed the children and said to his disciples that they should let them come to him, because the kingdom of heaven belongs to such. The adults had to repent and become like children to see it and come into it. He warned them not to look down on any of his smallest, because their angels in heaven see the face of their heavenly Father. An angle is a messenger and I think that in the Spirit he gives them, they have contact with him, that’s how it functions. They are aware of that he hears them and make use of it by learning to talk with him as his children. Like children learn to talk by listening to their parents.
God is Spirit and he touches us and does his work with us by his Spirit and his Word. So Bill Gaither Trio hits very well by praising God by singing “He touched me ….”. We sense the world by seeing and touching also, but here temptations are by the sensible lust, so that it replaces God, like idols. Jesus said that temptations would come, but he was God’s lamb that carried the world’s sin and was sacrificed for it. Sin separated the people from God, but by one sacrifice he took it away, once and for all. He paid the price for us with his blood, to by us back to God, so that we shall belong to him and he gives us the Holy Spirit as a pledge and a seal that shows that we belong to him. We get it by faith in Christ of mere grace, for free, without doing anything for it. As we belong to him, we are saved. Yes, God loved the world so much that he sent his only Son, so that everyone who believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
The lost son and his brother.
Imagine a farmer and his wife. They have slaves and hire workers on the farm. When their children are small, they learn both from them and their parents. They talk to their parents like sons and daughters, but start to work on the farm with no more rights than the slaves. But as they grow and learn, they get more rights and responsibility than the slaves and the workers.
Maybe the slaves and the workers tell their children that their Father is very busy, but they can talk with them instead. Then they don’t get more rights than them. They tell them that their parents went abroad, but as time goes by they start to ask for them again. Then they say that they were killed. After some more days the children start to claim their rights as heirs. But then they say that there is no testament. As the children still claimed their heritage, they start to say that their parents didn’t really exist. The farm belongs to them and the children are their slaves.
By the way compare to apostle Paul’s talk about the old and the new covenant (Gal.4) and Jesus’ talk about the two sons, one was lost the other remained at home. The lost one was dead, but became alive and returned home. Then the Father made a feast. The other one didn’t want to participate and went out. Because he had been faithful, but the Father had not let him make such a feast with his friends. But the Father came out and told him that all that he owns is his, he is heir. This is first of all Christ, as he went out and died instead of us. For he said about himself that all what the Fader has, is his. All who received him got the right to become children of God, borne by the Holy Spirit and what is borne by the Spirit is spirit. Then we live at our Father’s house. Then we don’t need to pray to him like slaves, because by faith we pray to him like heirs.
He knew he should be executed and told his disciples. Still he would not leave them as Fatherless children, he would come to them and after he rose from then dead he said that should see he was with them every day. How? By sending the Holy Spirit to them from heaven.
John.14, 26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
John.16,1 “All this I have told you so that you will not fall away.
2 They will put you out of the synagogue; in fact, the time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.
3 They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.
4 I have told you this, so that when their time comes you will remember that I warned you about them. I did not tell you this from the beginning because I was with you,
5 but now I am going to him who sent me. None of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’
6 Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things.
7 But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.
8 When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment:
9 about sin, because people do not believe in me;
10 about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer;
11 and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned.
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear.
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you.
15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”
